Wood, Dave  |  19/09/90

Position: Defence

Dave was another of the old squad nucleus to have moved across and committed to the FC MMIX cause having proved himself as somewhat of a utility player over previous seasons with performances at full-back, in the heart of the defence and midfield, on the wing as well as up front and between the sticks.

FC MMIX debut: August 2009, vs The Dixon XI (4-2 victory)

Last appearance: February 2010, vs Inter Inchley Reserves (2-0 victory)

Total FC MMIX appearances: 15 (1 goal)

Dave made his debut in the 2nd game of the 2009/10 season and went on to feature at right-back and centre-back before carving a niche for himself in his most obvious position, on the left hand side of the back four, with a series of committed and no-nonsense displays that kept him as a regular in the matchday squad. Featuring in 15 of the first 18 games, including the 8-1 victory over MKXI which saw him round off the scoring with a cheeky back-heel, other commitments saw him miss the final 9 games of the season but his character and persona were most definitely missed. As a shock to everybody – including Dave himself – an administration error saw him transferred to Wolverton Town for the 2010/11 season, and he never featured for FC MMIX again.
