FC MMIX debut: July 2010, vs The Dixon XI (8-2 victory)

A young attack minded player with mind numbingly quick feet and a deadly strike to boot, Darryl – or Darcy as he came to be known – had featured for the likes of New Bradwell St Peter and Old Bradwell United before really coming to the forefront for Stony Stratford Town despite only being 18 years of age, and was earmarked as a necessity in the squad almost as soon as he began training with FC MMIX.

Total 2010/11 appearances: 31 (17 goals)

After making his debut in the first pre-season fixture of 2010/11 as a half-time substitute, he started the very next game and netted twice in a 6-1 victory over Loughton Athletic before being used mainly as a left-winger as he continued his development into the adult game. His ability was there for all to see but he really came into his own in the 2nd half of the season as he operated in the free-role as part of the front 2 in a 3-5-2 formation, netting 9 goals in as many games including the hands down ‘goal of the season’, an absolute thunderbolt against Kiln Farm B in the quarter-finals of the Bill Johnson Supplementary Cup.
