Jones, Karl | DOB: February 23rd, 1980
FC MMIX debut: August 2010, vs Kings Arms (6-1 victory)
A natural centre back by trade, Karl actually trained with FC MMIX briefly during the winter months of 2009/10 but wasn’t able to sign due to league restrictions but during the summer of 2010, he reaffirmed his interest and put pen to paper to commit to the forthcoming campaign after a series of impressive showings behind closed doors. Bringing with him the sort of experience that only a captain of a Birmingham District side can bring, he was billed as a necessity in the MMIX squad as the team looked to push forward.
Total 2010/11 appearances: 24 (1 goal)
Karl made his debut as a half-time substitute in the 6-1 pre-season victory over Kings Arms in August 2010, and then went on to start every single game that he was available for until the end of the campaign, only missing fixtures due to his work commitments as a fireman. Winning several Man Of The Match awards as well as audaciously scoring from approximately 50-yards in the Knock-Out Cup fixture against CS Athletic in October, Karl went on to pick up a winners medal in the Bill Johnson Supplementary Cup and delighted players and fans alike when he decided to put pen to paper and commit to the forthcoming 2011/12 season.
