Clark, Des  |  DOB: September 4th, 1987

FC MMIX debut: January 2010, vs MKXI (3-2 victory)

After spending his junior days with City Colts as a central midfielder before turning his attention to striking and more attacking duties with the Willen teen set-up, Des came extremely highly recommended with an impressive Powerleague record as he looked to force his way instantly into proceedings.

Total 2009/10 appearances: 12 (7 goals)

Signing over the Christmas period, initially as an out-and-out striker, Des made his debut with an impressive friendly showing against MKXI but didn’t net his first goal until nearly 2 months later – he helped to secure a Supplementary Cup quarter-final tie with a close range tap in, before scoring one week later in the Bill Johnson Plate tie against Premier side Olney Town. He then ended the season in fine form, netting 5 goals in the final 4 games of the campaign when a shift into playing on the left side of a 4-5-1 formation saw him find a new sense of freedom and excitement, and earn rave reviews in the process.

Total 2010/11 appearances: 31 (19 goals)

With the chance to get a full season under his belt, Des started the season as he meant to go on and had racked up 10 goals in his first 6 appearances of the campaign, including a 4-goals in 45-minutes performance in the 13-0 victory over P+MM in August 2010. Operating as a striker or a winger, he suffered a lack of confidence in front of goal but more than made up for it with his workrate before rediscovering his touch in front of goal towards the end of the campaign, netting a whole host of goals during MMIX’s 11-game winning run including the winner against Premier Division side Willen, as well as the 1st goal in the Bill Johnson Supplementary Cup final victory against AFC Santander in May 2011.
